Homeopathy
What is it?
Homeopathy is a system of medicine which aims to help the body heal itself by stimulating the body’s own natural healing processes to eliminate illness; it is safe in all age groups, during pregnancy and in conjunction with conventional medicines. Homeopathic medicines are prepared from naturally occurring vegetable, animal and mineral sources. Homeopathy’s validity is supported by research and evidence based medicine, with over 200 scientifically approved studies confirming that homeopathy is not a placebo response.
What are it’s origins and principles?
Homeopathy, which is derived from the Greek to mean ‘treat like with like’, is a medical treatment which has been in use for over 200 years. When a medicine which causes specific symptoms in a well person is given to an ill person with those same specific symptoms, the medicine stimulates the body’s own healing processes.; homeopathy will facilitate this transition from ‘ill health’ to ‘good health’ by facilitating the body’s healing process to work at their optimum level.

What to expect from a consultation?
Your first consultation will last an hour. You will be asked about your symptoms, along with the factors that make those symptoms better or worse. You will also be asked about your general health, previous medical illnesses, current medications and serious illnesses in your family. Then a prescription will created for you. A review of your case and response to the medicine is usually four weeks later and lasts 30 minutes.
