Kim Upton
Butekyo practitioner
Kim Upton is a breathing specialist using the Butekyo breathing method with over seven years experience in helping people of all ages to breathe healthily.
Due to his own ill health as a child, Kim has sought to discover the underlying principles of a creative, balanced healthy life and this has lead Kim to study acupuncture, shiatsu and practice Buddhism for over 19 years.
Ten years ago his childhood asthma returned with a vengeance and in a quest to find the root cause, he discovered The Buteyko Breathing Method. This restored a healthy breathing pattern which has enabled Kim to be medication and asthma free for over 5 years. He uses the same clinically proven technique with his asthma patients, giving them the tools to reduce asthma symptoms and reliance on medication.
Kim continued his professional development in America with Professor Peter Litchfield and learned to incorporate the latest biofeedback techniques with his breathing practitioner skills. This has enabled Kim to further specialise in 'stressed' breathing and 'over-breathing' which can cause disturbances in the body's physiology, triggering and aggravating health problems of all kinds including panic attacks, migraines, epileptic seizures, high blood-pressure and chronic fatigue.
"London living used to be my biggest trigger - the pollution, the manic pace of life and the constant stress of keeping up. Now I manage my body's response to this hectic environment by keeping my breathing under control."
